Why high women's work shoes?

When choosing the right safety shoes, comfort and fit play just as big a role as the safety standards themselves. Especially for women, it’s important that a work shoe is not simply a smaller version of a men's shoe, but is designed on a women's last. Our collection of high women's work shoes combines this specific fit with the robust protection you need on the job site. Whether you work in construction, logistics, or agriculture; a high model provides that extra support that makes a difference at the end of a long workday.

Why choose a high model work shoe?

The main reason to choose a high model is stability. While low shoes offer more freedom of movement around the ankle, high women's work shoes fully enclose the ankle. This significantly reduces the risk of rolling, which is especially important when working on uneven surfaces, such as on a construction site or in road construction. Additionally, the shaft protects the Achilles tendon and keeps the ankles warm during colder days. Prefer a bit more freedom of movement and lighter shoes for indoor work? Then check out our collection low women's work shoes for a lighter alternative.

Are high work shoes heavier than low models?

Fit and the narrow women's last

A common complaint among women wearing standard shoes is that the heel slips or the shoe feels too wide. Women's feet are anatomically shaped differently than men's feet; they are often narrower at the heel and instep. Our collection of high women's work shoes is selected from brands that use a specific women's last. This ensures that the shoe fits snugly, preventing friction and blisters. Comfort often lies in the weight; that’s why we see more use of lightweight materials like microfiber and composite toes, making the shoes feel less like heavy blocks on your legs.

From sneaker style to robust work boot

The days when safety shoes were clunky and boring are far behind us. Nowadays, you don’t have to compromise on style to work safely. In our category of high women's work shoes, you’ll find models that resemble modern sneakers, like the popular 'high-top' models, as well as tough nubuck boots that look great with jeans. We offer brands that understand that aesthetics matter too, without compromising on safety. Looking for models for your male colleagues with the same robust look? Then also check out our general category high work shoes.

Questions fréquentes sur High work shoes for women

Generally, a high model is slightly heavier due to the extra material around the ankle. However, due to modern techniques and the use of composite (plastic) safety toes and Kevlar midsoles, today's high women's models are surprisingly lightweight and flexible.

Do you work a lot outdoors, in damp conditions, or on rough terrain? Then S3 (water-repellent and anti-perforation) is the best choice. Do you mainly work indoors in a warehouse where it's dry? Then an S1P shoe may be sufficient; it often ventilates better but is not water-repellent.

In general, you can stick to your regular shoe size. However, since work shoes have a hard toe that doesn't stretch, it's essential that your toes don't touch the front. If you're in doubt between two sizes, or if you're wearing thick work socks, we often recommend trying the larger size or using insoles.
