A S7 safety shoe offers the same protection as S3 but is enhanced with complete waterproofing. Introduced in the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard. Compared to S3, S7 adds:

Safety toe (protection up to 200J)
Closed heel
Antistatic (A)
Energy absorption in the heel (E)
Water-repellent upper material (WRU)
Anti-puncture plate in the sole
Profiled outsole
Completely waterproof construction via membrane and sealed seams (WR)

Within S7, there are three variants based on the type of puncture plate:

S7

Metal anti-puncture plate (type P)

S7S

Non-metal plate (type PS), tested with a 3 mm nail. Protects against small, sharp objects like fine nails or metal shards.

S7L

Non-metal plate (type PL), tested with a 4.5 mm nail. Protects against large fasteners like coarse nails and screws.

Choose S7 over S3 when water-repellent upper material alone is not sufficient, for example when working long hours in wet outdoor environments.
